Bonding
is the process whereby composites or porcelain/ceramic materials are
fused to teeth. Composite is a tooth colored resin material composed
of plastic with small glass or ceramic particles. It is usually cured
with filtered light to repair small fractures or change the color or
shape of a tooth.
The disadvantage of composite resin is that they are not as strong as
porcelain and require repairs every few years. Composites can also discolor
over time and does not have as much natural beauty as porcelain.
